Why we started Tastie
Many families want to eat healthier and share more meals together, but work, commutes, and childcare make it hard to cook every night. At the same time, talented home cooks in the community are looking for flexible ways to earn by doing what they love.
Tastie brings these two groups together in a simple, safe way: you get real home-cooked food and more calm evenings; cooks get meaningful, local work that fits their schedule.
How Tastie works
Think of Tastie as “UberEats for home cooks” with profiles that feel more like Airbnb hosts than restaurant listings. Here’s what the experience looks like:
- Browse cooks and find your match. Choose cuisines, dietary goals, and preferred days, then scroll through rich cook profiles with photos, sample menus, languages spoken, and reviews.
- Book a visit in a few taps. Pick a cook, select a date and time, share household details and allergies, and confirm the visit at a clear, upfront price. Payment is handled securely through Tastie.
- Relax while your cook does the rest. On the day of your booking, your cook shops for ingredients (or uses groceries you provide), cooks in your kitchen, cleans up, and leaves you with a fresh meal and leftovers for tomorrow—then you can rate and rebook your favorites.
Safety and trust
Inviting someone into your home is a big decision. We take that seriously.
- Application & screening. Every Tastie cook completes an application and interview before joining the platform.
- Basic checks. We review identity and key information to keep the marketplace safe.
- Continuous feedback. After each visit, customers can share ratings and comments so we can maintain quality over time.
